Humane Education Programs
Since 1979, the Ontario SPCA Orillia Branch's humane education program has been available to children and the community to help people appreciate, understand and care for animals. Today the Branch continues that tradition through its "Bite Free" Program designed for children in grades one to six, as well as parent groups. The program is designed to prevent animal bites by teaching children how to properly approach and handle dogs and cats. It also helps teach children about the humane treatment and care of animals.
This fun-filled and informative program is taught by Tom Molloy, and includes activity books, an educational video, and when permitted, co-educator, Abbey, a five-year-old border collie who helps participants get some hands on experience!
If you are interested in learning more about the Bite Free Program, or having Tom visit your school or event, please contact him at (705) 325-1304 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
